Birmingham Friends of the Earth Ltd (BFoE) is currently seeking two new board members.
BFoE exists to promote positive environmental change. As well as campaigning on local to global issues we have a thriving community building, The Warehouse in Digbeth, which is a space for activists, non-profits and green businesses.
Campaigns activity is delegated to our committed campaigns group, which meets weekly, so the Board’s work is mainly on governance of the organisation as a whole and ensuring the operation of the building meets our objectives.
The Warehouse is a friendly and thriving hub for the city’s environmental and social activism with a proud history and strong networks. It comprises meeting and office space, a vegan cafe and events space, a bike shop and workshop, an independent bookshop, a community radio station and a community garden.
We’re seeking people with environmental commitment, a cooperative nature, experience of organisational development, and ideally additional expertise in one or more of the following areas:
- Society Secretary (the equivalent of a Company Secretary role)
- Financial Skills
- Communication and Marketing
- Bid Writing
- HR
If this is of interest please see http://www.birminghamfoe.org.uk/boardrecruit/ for more information. The deadline is 9am Monday 20th November.
