August Update

Dear friend,

Our biggest update is that we have been faced with some troubling news – The Warehouse is currently proposed for demolition in 2030. We encourage everyone to respond to the consultation in efforts to save our space of activism (please see ‘Warehouse Update’ below for more information).

On a positive note for campaigning, July has been a busy and social month for us! The Season of Film was in full swing – we showed ‘Into the Weeds’ and ‘Cost of Growth’. We also hosted our first News Club! This was a wonderful way to foster intergenerational conversation and spread awareness of misinformation in the media.

We met with councillors Izzy Knowles and Joe Peacock concerning the Save our Soil campaign, and met with MPs Al Carns and Preet Gill to hand in the Planet Over Profit petition. For the incinerator shutdown campaign, we had further discussions with Councillor Joe Peacock and UKWIN.

We attended the annual CocoMAD festival in Cotteridge Park. This was a vibrant day full of excitement and entertainment. It was great to see much engagement, meeting new people interested in volunteering with us and signing campaigns.
